Precursor (Blood Group Antigen) Clone: K21 Isotype: IgM The BG-1 monoclonal antibody is one of
a series of well characterized murine antibodies detecting blood
group specificities of the ABH and Lewis systems. BG-1 is a Type 1
chain precursor. The precursor molecule is the backbone structure
for synthesis of other blood-group-related antigens. Increased
expression of blood-group precursor antigens occurs in epithelial
tumors, and in teratocarcinoma and renal-cell carcinoma. |

recognizes the A (types 1 & 2 chains) antigen. Blood-group antigens

the Lewis Y (type 2 chain) antigen, expressed in studies of large
bowel tumors and colorectal carcinomas. It may be useful in the
classification of human renal and bladder tumors. F3 is specific for
Lewis Y (Type 2 Chain). The Lewis Y antigen has been evaluated as a
clinical marker for the diagnosis (2,3) and prognosis of
cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma and breast cancer. The
expression of Lewis Y antigen has been investigated in various
